Tungrok Mining was established in September 2006 and became the only BBBEE compliant manufacturer of percussion drilling equipment in South Africa, making Tungrok Mining resulting in Level 3 with 100% black ownership. In 2014 Tungrok Mining received its ISO 9001:2015 certificate, 01100928358 and has maintained the accreditation to date.
Tungrok Mining is dedicated in delivering the finest percussion drilling equipment in the market, this is managed by using high quality imports steel from Sweden for the extension and drifter drill rods, using strict quality measures.
Tungrok Mining monitors all the steps of production closely to ensure superior quality from start to finish on all our products. Our products are traceable right back to the inception date of production order with each process approved by the quality department before the item moves to the next phase of production with ISO standard adhered to.
The heat treatment process utilised by Tungrok Mining was designed based on the grade of steel used to manufacture the rock drilling tools. The heat treatment plant was designed to process rods that are 4300 mm long with a diameter of 60 mm.
After going through the final production process, all components will be inspected and documented.
Any component that does not comply with the implemented quality management system will be removed from the production line and an NCR will be raised in accordance with ISO 9001:2015. All components that were inspected and then accepted will be documented that they comply with Tungrok Mining quality standards. The documents are stored for at least 3 years to ensure traceability.
To further increase our plant’s availability. Tungrok Mining has installed an alternative power supply to combat load shedding initiated by Eskom.
The steel used to manufacture rock drilling is of the highest quality and is sourced from Sweden.
